Wirral is one of 15 councils in England that have this week been warned that Government intervention is likely on where new homes should be built, following failure by the Council to produce a local plan for the last 13 years.
Official employment figures released today (13 September 2017) show that there are now a record number of people in work, the highest level since records began in 1971. The figures, released by the Office of National Statistics, also show that unemployment is at 4.3%, the lowest since 1975.
Wirral Council has today published the results of a consultation on proposals to introduce a fourth wheelie bin in Borough, dedicated to food waste and, at the same time, reduce the frequency of collections of residual waste to three weekly.
Figures obtained by Conservative Councillors have revealed that, so far, 1,475 households in the Borough have had Council Tax bills cut due to dementia, Parkinson’s and other 'severe mental impairments'.
