It's really important that we speak to residents about our plans for the future and the way in which Labour is failing the people of Wirral.

1,660 fewer of Wirral's young people out of work

The number of 18-24 year olds out of work in Wirral has fallen again - down to 880 in January, compared to 2,540 five years ago.

This week is National Apprenticeship Week and is part of a plan by the Conservatives to work with employers to create more apprenticeships.

Heswall Tesco petrol plan sparks opposition

Plans by Tesco for a 24-hour petrol station at their Heswall store have led to opposition from residents and local councillors.

The store giant, which last year saw sales hit £28 billion, wants to turn part of the car park at the Telegraph Road store into a four-pump petrol station.

13 years of failure leads to Government intervention

Wirral is one of 15 councils in England that have this week been warned that Government intervention is likely on where new homes should be built, following failure by the Council to produce a local plan for the last 13 years. 

Thornton Hough Green Belt plan sparks anger

A plan to build on the Green Belt around Thornton Hough, enlarging the village by almost a third, has sparked opposition from residents and local councillors.
