Tony is well known to many people in New Brighton. He was councillor for 11 years and, during that time, helped hundreds of local residents and businesses with issues and problems in our community. Tony lives on Seabank Road and has also served as a governor of New Brighton Primary School.
Tony worked with community groups to save the Dome of Home from closure; helped to set up the Gorse Millennium Green Trust (where is a trustee) and to save the Mersey Ferry service to Seacombe.
During his time as local councillor, Tony won the support of many residents, including some who usually vote Labour at General Elections. Tony was active across our community all year round, not just at election time. He kept in touch with regular newsletters, letters and doorstep conversations.
Following the resignation of Labour Councillor Pat Hackett, many people have said they want their next councillors to have a track record of getting things done for New Brighton. People in New Brighton will be electing two councillors next and Tony is working with Darren May to give people a local voice in the Town Hall.
