Parking charges introduced at The Lighthouse and The Nelson pubs in Wallasey

Thank you to those residents who have been in touch with local councillors Ian Lewis, Lesley Rennie and Paul Hayes following the decision by brewery Greene King to introduce parking charges at The Lighthouse and The Nelson pubs

The charges are £1 (for up to one hour); £2 (for up to 3 hours) and £3 (for up to five hours) - these charges can be redeemed over the bar (if spending £3 or more).  The scheme, managed by Britannia Parking, will see fines of £100 for those who do not comply.  The manager of one of the pubs has said that drivers who wish to leave their cars in the car park overnight can do so but to speak to the bar staff first.

Since then, the Council's Planning Manager has advised us that the brewery needs to apply for planning permission to install pay and display equipment.

In the meantime, we'd like to hear your views on these charges - as well as wider issues of parking in and around Wallasey Village, including the residential roads that have no off-street parking for residents.

Tell us your views on parking in Wallasey Village and the new parking fees at The Lighthouse and The Nelson
