Wirral residents urged to give their views on open spaces

Residents in Wirral are being urged to take part in the Council’s survey of public open spaces, including play areas, parks, promenades and allotments.

The deadline for the questionnaire to be completed is 5pm on Wednesday 31 July 2019.

A review of local authority audits and whether they are spotting warning signs early enough, has been welcomed by the Chair of the council’s Audit and Risk Committee, Councillor Jeff Green.

Council backs Conservative call to scrap Wirral View newspaper

Wirral Councillors have voted to end the Town Hall’s failing newspaper, the ‘Wirral View’, first published in October 2016.

The publication, which has been blighted by distribution issues and criticism from residents since it’s inception, has, so far, cost the Authority £402,000.

Should Wirral Council declare a Climate Emergency?

Later this month, councillors in Wirral will decide whether to declare a Climate Emergency. This follows last year’s non-violent protests by Extinction Rebellion against climate breakdown, biodiversity loss, and the risk of human extinction and ecological collapse.
