West Kirby housing plan thrown out. Again.

A call to reject an application to build 14 houses on Banks Road in West Kirby has been backed by Wirral's Planning Committee.

The plan would have seen the former Ashton Court demolished to make way for 14 homes and led to fears from residents of parking problems from overdevelopment of the site.  A petition of 973 signatures was submitted to the Town Hall.

Councillor Gerry Ellis said: "For the second time in 12 months, the application for cramming so many houses on to this site has been rejected.  I sincerely hope the applicant will now reconsider how appropriate it is to try to squeeze so many houses onto such a small site.  Thank you to all those residents who supported our call."

Last night's meeting at Wallasey Town Hall was attended by around 100 residents.
