Maritime Minister backs new 'knowledge hub' for Wirral

Maritime Minister Nusrat Ghani MP was in Wirral today to meet with leading maritime employers in the Borough at an event organised by Mersey Maritime.

During her visit, the Minister met with the Leader of the Labour Council and the Leader of the Borough's Conservative Councillors, Cllr. Ian Lewis, as they toured the iconic building between Wallasey and Birkenhead that is now set to be a new Maritime Knowledge Hub.

Ian said: "The fantastic plans for a Maritime Knowledge Hub have been sat on a shelf for four years - it's time we crack on and get the plan done.  The Hub will be a world-leading facility for the maritime sector, creating jobs and apprenticeships for local people."
