Lingham litter pick goes spite of the weather

The latest community litter pick organised by the local Conservatives went ahead today, in spite of the weather.  Organised by Councillor Bruce Berry, bags were filled with litter from around Lingham Park by volunteers.

Bruce roped in Lingham Primary School, where he serves as a Governor, as well Keep Britain Tidy and the Council's Waste Team to help promote the event.

Speaking after the event, Bruce said: "Thanks to those residents who helped and to the staff at Moreton Library who hold the litter picking equipment for local groups to use.  We collected loads of litter - including plastic bottles, glass and cans.  The park, and the area around the park, looks much better now."

Today's litter pick followed last month's inaugural meeting of the new Coastal Clean Up Team set up by the Conservatives.
