Conservative Councillors raise £1,320 for Macmillan Cancer

Over the last four days, Wirral's Conservative Councillors have raised £1,320 for Macmillan Cancer as part of the World's Biggest Coffee Morning and an abseil of Leasowe Lighthouse by Councillor Bruce Berry.

Coffee mornings were held at Greasby Library, Moreton Community Centre and Wallasey Village Library and were promoted via letter drops to residents, social media and word of mouth.

Councillor Bruce Berry said: "Thank you to everyone who sponsored me for the abseil and who attended our coffee morning in Moreton. We had great support once again from the local community."

Councillor Wendy Clements said: "Macmillan do a fantastic job supporting those affected with cancer, and their families and every penny of the money we raised will go towards their work."

Councillor Lesley Rennie said: "Thank you to the wonderful Friends of Wallasey Village Library who helped make our coffee morning such a success and it was great to welcome the Princes Trust and Age UK Wirral to the event as well."
