3,300 residents back campagn for action on scrambler bikes

The campaign to tackle the menace of scrambler bikes across Wirral has now received the support of more than 3,300 people.

The campaign was launched by Councillor Bruce Berry (Moreton West & Saughall Massie) following increasing number of complaints from residents.

A petition started on Saturday has already been signed by 3,351 people: https://www.change.org/p/wirral-safer-hub-stop-scrambler-bike-nuisance

Councillor Berry said: “Scrambler bikes are a menace on our roads, parks and open spaces. Mums and dads in Lingham Park have told me of their fears for the safety of their children because of the thoughtless actions of some of the kids on these bikes. This problem is found in communities across Wirral.”

“This is the first test for the new ‘Safer Wirral Hub’ set up by the police, council and other agencies. They need to work together to tackle this problem and quickly – our parks and roads need to be reclaimed from those who couldn’t care less for the danger they are causing to others.”
