Improving animal welfare

Our Plan:

We will work with animal welfare charities and organisations in Wirral to improve the welfare and treatment of animals, both domestic and wild and push for stronger sentences for those found guilty of mistreatment or cruelty. We will support national and international campaigns to tackle so-called trophy hunting and the export of live animals destined for slaughter.

So far, we have:

  • Opposed Labour's arrogant Dog Ban Plan
  • Appointed Cllr. Lesley Rennie as our Animal Welfare Spokesman
  • Supported the establishment of the Friends of Birkenhead Kennels

Nationally, Conservatives have:

Not everyone is in when we knock on their door and other voters prefer a call. Let us know if you can phone voters from the comfort of your own home!
We're looking to select 22 candidates to stand in the 2020 Wirral Council elections.

Local backing for tougher sentencing for animal abuse

Tougher penalties proposed for animal cruelty have been welcomed by councillors and animal welfare organisations in Wirral.
